to the new home of the DiMedio Foundation for Children
The YWCA Princeton’s “St. Nicholas Project” provides holiday presents to help local less fortunate families create the magic of Christmas in their own homes. Gifts are donated by community members – individuals, families and businesses alike.
Participants are matched with a needy family and asked to contribute presents for each child or a supermarket gift certificate for the family. “Wish lists” will be provided. The Project allows parents to create the magic of Christmas for their children. A gift given to a child by a stranger (howeverwell meaning) cannot compare to the feeling of receiving one from Santa on Christmas Day. The delight of Christmas is and the memories of the day are invaluable gifts to these children and their parents.
Those who would like to participate but cannot shop for a family may take a donation to the YWCA Princeton Bates Scholarship Fund.
The DiMedio Foundation again sponsored two families through the Saint Nicholas Project. These families had a nice holiday meal, and many gifts to put under their Christmas tree. In all, the families have six children which enjoyed new bicycles, new clothes, scarves, gloves, and toys for Christmas.
